What does the treatment involve?

  • We first make sure that the teeth that will support the bridge are healthy and strong. They are then prepared by removing a layer of enamel.
  • We take impressions of the prepared teeth. These are sent to the dental laboratory. While your bridge is custom-made, we provide you with a temporary bridge to protect the exposed teeth.
  • When ready, we check your bridge, making sure it fits perfectly and making small adjustments if necessary. Your bridge is finally fixed in place with strong dental cement.

Why choose a dental bridge?

  • Traditional bridges use crowns placed over the teeth on either side of the gap as support for a new tooth in between. The replacement tooth bridges the gap to blend seamlessly into your smile.
  • Maryland bridges are made with metal or ceramic wings that are attached to the neighbouring teeth to secure the bridge in place. They are a minimally invasive option, and often avoid the need for drilling.
  • Cantilever bridges are used in cases where there are existing teeth on only one side of the gap. They are secured to a single healthy tooth and often used to replace missing front teeth.
